Why Is Skateboarding Dangerous?

Have you ever got into an accident when playing skateboard? In this article, I will tell you the reasons why skateboarding is considered a dangerous sport.

All sports have hidden dangers. My friend loves skateboarding, especially longboarding. He spent a lot of money and effort on his favorite skateboarding. He possesses a collection of different types of boards. You can view best skateboards recommended by pro skaters.

However, his passion for skateboarding is not encouraged by his parents. Why?

In the early time of practicing this sport, my friend always got scratches everywhere, at the knees and elbows. Otherwise, he still pursues his hobby and tries his best. Nonetheless, one serious accident made him almost lose his legs.

He crashed into the car when skateboarding in the rain on a Saturday afternoon. He thought the rain did not heavied. And he kept practicing.

Fortunately, his leg still sticks on the body! Until that time has he realized the hidden dangers of skateboarding.

Now, let me tell you seven reasons why this sport is so dangerous!

1. You are an amateur

The first reason why I said skateboarding is threatening is in this sport, you are just an outsider.

Skateboarding, especially longboarding, on a fundamental level is a sport implied for thoughtless creatives with a strong touch. If you are not entirely this kind of people, you should not try this sport.

As mentioned above, this sport takes you a considerable effort to master. If you think you can be a real skater after several months, you’re wrong. It is even more dangerous for you to play this game on the roads.

2. Long time to master

Skateboarding is not only dangerous but it is also a waste of your time.

You will take a long time to become a true skateboarding player. Moreover, the development of skateboarding is significantly growing, resulting in the diverse number and style of the board.

If you are passionate about this sport, you will have to spend a lot of money. Like my friend above, he spent a huge sum on buying boards.

If you want to really master this sport, you need to invest seriously in your effort, time, and money.

3. Hold the board in the wrong direction

There are a million suitable approaches to hold your board and just one wrong, which, for reasons unknown, is how everybody who doesn’t skate figures to keep it. It’s called ‘shopping center hold,’ and it’s spreading like the plague.

The shopping center hold is when you convey your board by the trucks. It’s the greatest tell that you don’t skate and we simply need to smack the load up ideal out of your hand each time we see it.

You can hold your board in some other manner: by the tail, the nose, the side, grip it in your arm, place it in the ties of your knapsack; yet for reasons unknown should you ever hold it by the trucks.

4. Unsuitable landscape

The terrain element is also one of the reasons why skateboarding becomes dangerous.

You have not mastered but you want to try it on the roads with new terrain. That is stupid!

If you choose terrain that is not suitable for your current playing ability, you are hurting yourself. There are many adventure lovers and skateboarding players. They try to challenge themselves with dangerous roads, such as skateboarding in Troll’s Path in Norway.

Eleven bands from the high hill will cause amateur players to get hurt or even risk their lives.

5. Low-quality boards

The next reason why skateboarding is so risky is you are using low-quality boards.

The quality of boards not only affects the experience of skateboarding but also the safety of the player!

A conventional skateboard has one shape and appearance while longboards have an unending assortment. When choosing a best starter skateboard, for your sake, think about how you feel.

On the off chance that you got it from a retail establishment, you’re an imbecile; some go for those silly, wacky shapes – keep it basic. What’s more, whatever you do, don’t put substantial cruiser wheels on a trap board.

6. Skate in the rain

If you play skateboarding in the rain, you are likely to have an accident!

Water is a skateboard’s ethical foe. It ruins both the course and the deck itself. Moreover, roads are slippery when it rains.

Rain also limits your vision. There are other dangers like thunder, lightning, wind, etc.

Whether you are challenged by someone or you want to challenge yourself, do not perform skateboarding in the rain. That’s stupid! Risking your life and many others just to test your buddy and your skills is a foolish thing.

You should not even drive under bad weather conditions. So, never skate when it rains!

7. Use hand for playing

OK. Coming to the last reason why you can be harmful when playing skateboarding. You use hand to ride the board.

You’ve probably seen many skateboarding players using their hands while sliding. They used their hands to create aerial swings, flip the board, and still land safely.

You try to imitate them. But unfortunately, even if you have a helmet or protective gear, you’ll be hurt one way or another.

Or even, you lie on the board and try to use your hand to glide along the road. Never do that. The speed of the board and the speed of the mismatched arm will break your arm.

So remember my words. Never use your hands when skateboarding!

As long as you become a true skateboarder, use techniques to practice hand-to-hand movements.
Conclusion
Remember those mentioned reasons! I do not require you to quit this sport. However, knowing why skateboarding can harm you to find out properly protected methods. Do you agree with my opinions? Share with us your idea about skateboarding in the comment section!
