Show Off Your Strategy Skills with the Best Online Multiplayer Strategy Games

Looking for a fun strategy game you can play with your friends? Whether you are looking for a classic war game with castles and soldiers or a futuristic strategy game that takes place in outer space, there is a game for every player.

I am a big fan of strategy games, whether they are board games, desktop games, console games or mobile games. So, whenever a new strategy game is released, I’m all over it. Lately, I’ve taken to mobile games as I find them to be much more convenient than other formats, since I get to play anytime, anywhere I go.

Now that we are a few months into 2019, I thought it would be a good idea to round up the best multiplayer strategy games for mobile devices. Rather than relying solely on games I’ve played in the past I did a bit of digging to find other games that I might have missed out on. I ended up finding a pretty useful website that neatly summarizes key information for each game, which made it easy to find games to try out.

Best 10 Real-Time Multiplayer Strategy Games

I spent some time with a few of the games on the list, and after careful consideration, I picked out my top 3 favorite multiplayer strategy games. Here are my thoughts on each one, so you can easily make your pick and get to playing!

Clash of Clans – Battle Between Kingdoms

One of my favorite multiplayer strategy games is Clash of Clans. What I like about it is that there are many play modes to choose from, so you can always switch up the game and test your strategy skills in a different setting. My favorite mode is the online multiplayer mode where you battle other clans from around the world. I also like that you have the option to play a campaign mode if you feel like playing solo. Another plus is the variety of soldiers and weapons, as you can find anything from cannons, bombs, and mortars to magic spells, heroes, and more.

The only drawback I found is that the latest update was heavy on microtransactions, introducing many items that are only available for purchase. While it would be great if there were ways to earn these items just by playing the game, there are so many other free items to collect that you’ll find that it is not necessary to pay for extra items you don’t need.

Dawn of Titans – Step It Up with Monster Battles

Another strategy game I really like is Dawn of Titans. I find it to be a great choice if you want to step up your classic multiplayer strategy game by introducing additional elements such as monsters and epic titans that can turn the game around with just a few clever moves. I particularly like how you can customize each titan to your personal style, and how you can level it up and make it more and more powerful the more you play. Another big plus is the graphics. Although I have already invested well over a dozen hours into the game, I still find myself being impressed by the graphics, which are truly outstanding.

My only complaint is that sometimes I run into server issues or glitches, especially after large updates which bring in a lot of new content. Thankfully, any issues are quickly ironed out by the developers through the release of fairly frequent updates.

Galaxy Reavers – Take Battles Out Of This World

And, last but not least, I couldn’t round off my top 3 favorite games without including Galaxy Reavers. Unlike my previous two picks, which take place in a world much like our own, the battles in Galaxy Reavers are literally out of this world. If you have ever wanted to fly a spaceship and take part in space battles, this is a great choice for you. I particularly like how you can upgrade and customize your spaceship with a variety of weapons and improvements to gain an edge over your enemies. I also like how you get to fly through many galaxies completing a variety of missions including rescue missions, escort missions, and survival battles.

While I have found that developers did a great job at creating a game that is engaging, beautiful, and runs smoothly, I have been eagerly waiting for an update which allows for data transfer between devices. Until this feature is included, there is no way to transfer game progress to another phone. The developers release updates periodically updating the game so that it runs smoothly on the latest platforms. Hopefully, they will include a data transfer feature in a future update!

Conclusion

So, these are my top 3 favorite multiplayer strategy games. While I enjoy playing all three, my favorite of all time is definitely Clash of Clans. However, they are all a lot of fun to play, so you are in for a treat no matter which one you pick. Good luck, and have fun beating your opponents!
