Different ways you can recycle computer parts

Electronic waste makes for almost half of the world’s garbage that we are struggling to get rid of. And unfortunately, some computer parts contain toxic elements that are harmful to the environment. This is because most of these things are metals like lead, copper, silver, and even mercury that are poisonous when they find their way to water and soil. The repercussions are dire, and so, in an effort to save the planet, it is smart that we find better ways to recycle, reuse, or repurpose these parts.

Below are some of the ways these old compute parts may be utilized.

They may be used as spare parts

The first notable way to use e-waste is to use it as spare parts of the new computers that are faulty. Things like monitors, motherboards, cables, and power supplies can be utilized in almost every computer, regardless of the model, to fix a broken one. And this is just one of the things that can be used. Nearly all computer parts can be used as spare parts.

They can be recycled to make something better

This same e-waste can be collected by huge companies like R3eWaste computer recycling and used to make something else useful. All these old computer parts can be remodeled to making some other computer parts that are just as good as new. With a few modifications here and there, wiring and batteries change, they can work even better than the original. Think of it as an upgrade from the old.

They can be used to make art

E-waste that cannot be sold as spare parts or recycled can otherwise be used in the artistry sector in making sculptures and other antique pieces. Monitor frames could be converted to photo frames, floppy disks into planters, motherboards into coasters, and so much more. An artistic person can transform any old computer part into a masterpiece that could sell for a colossal amount of money. And the incredible thing is that the planet remains safe from harmful waste.

Some parts could be repurposed

A computer is essentially made of several elements brought together to work in unison. Think of the disk drive used on a laptop, don’t you think you could use that same hardware to make something else? Well, you can. These elements that make up a computer may be repurposed to making amplifiers, music players, power supplies, and so much more.

Conclusion

With such ideas in mind, the next time you see someone disposing of an old computer, take it in and make something great out of it. Instead of letting the parts disintegrate, use them wisely, and save our planet. Keep in mind that it starts small and it starts with you. Do not expect change if you are not willing to change first. And so if you want to leave a clean planet for our kids, we start now. That said, get creative, and let’s leave the world healthy and alive.
