An Overview of Apex Legends Game Modes

Apex Legends is a free, online multiplayer game that features a Battle Royale style of gaming with a twist. Characters known as “Legends” possess a variety of abilities that fall into one of three categories: Passive, Tactical, and Ultimate. Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends cycles through seasons in which various game modes are made available, new Legends presented, and creative challenges released in Battle Passes. Here, we will look at the Apex Legends game modes currently available to fans worldwide.

Training

Training is pretty much as straightforward as it sounds – it equips new players with enough knowledge to become a viable threat on the battlefield. It disperses the basics of the game and allows players to either learn or refresh their skills before launching into the heat of battle. It is a static game mode that is always available and never changes.

Firing Range

The Firing Range is another static game mode that presents players with the capacity to try out weapons, items, abilities, strafing techniques, ziplining, as well as improve their aiming. You can go it alone or enter with your teammates to duke it out and prepare for battle.

Duos and Trios Apex Legends Game Modes

Traditional Duos and Trios will randomly pair you up with either one or two teammates other than yourself, unless you are already playing with friends who have joined your lobby. In this game mode, crafting items rotate, but there are no twists and turns or special objectives that are often found in limited-time game modes and events. What does change, though, are the items that are available to be crafted at the Replicators. These items cycle in and out and are made when a player deposits their Materials. When an item is available in the Replicator, it is automatically removed from the map and cannot be found in any other location or supply bins.

One important note concerning traditional Duos and Trios is that when a limited-time game mode or event is present, the option of playing this mode is unavailable. The closest thing to playing it will be to play Ranked Leagues, which usually offers no special event or limited-time game modes.

Limited-Time Modes and Themed Events

Limited-time game modes and themed events are a lovely surprise in Apex Legends. They cycle in and out quite frequently, and players are never quite sure what the next limited-time game mode or themed event will be. For example, throughout a season, Apex Legends will feature these special game modes and events for a specific length of time. After that, the game will either offer traditional Duos and Trios again, or a new special event and mode will be presented.

Currently, War Games, and more specifically War Games: Armor Regen, is the latest of such modes. The War Games themed event is available to players worldwide from April 13, 2021 to April 27, 2021. One of the limited-time modes of the event, War Games: Armor Regen, presents Legends with the unique ability to regenerate their Body Shields as time in the game progresses. No shield cells are available (though shield batteries are), and all players begin on equal footing with a standard low-level White Body Shield.

The regeneration of the Body Shield happens passively, much like Octane can regenerate his health as long as he is not in a battle. More specifically, this Body Shield regeneration happens at a precise rate. If a Legend receives damage during the heat of battle, a timer begins to count down from 8 seconds. The eight seconds must be fully completed before the armor regeneration begins at the specific rate of 12 shield points for every second passed that further damage is not incurred.

In the very unfortunate event that a Body Shield is completely annihilated, the countdown timer will double from 8 to 16 seconds. Players do not have to keep up with this themselves. They are immediately made aware that the countdown timer has doubled because the bottom-left corner that features the shield icon will suddenly turn a shade of red. It will display the words “cracked,” so that the player knows their regeneration time has doubled. When this timer has completely counted down, White Body Shields will be completely restored in approximately 4 seconds. However, Red Body Shields, the highest-level shield in the game, will need approximately 10 seconds.

Ranked Leagues

Ranked Leagues is the place serious, seasoned Apex Legends gamers go to showcase their skills. Also a static game mode, players put everything on the line to move from Bronze to Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and finally, Apex Predator. The various tiers, Apex Predator excluded, contain four divisions within them before players are ranked up to the next tier. Depending on game performance, you can be promoted or demoted in the ranks, and once you obtain Silver status, Ranked Leagues matches cost RP (Ranked Points) to play. This game mode pairs players with those who have a similar skillset, so it is a great way to learn and hone skills for serious players.

Overview of Apex Legends Game Modes and Boosting Services

Apex Legends features both static and non-static gaming modes. These include ones for new beginners or older players wishing to brush up on their skills, such as Training and the Firing Range. Players who are ready to dive right in can start with traditional Duos or Trios, or a limited-time game mode or special event (if available). Seasoned players who want to up their game and take on a challenge will opt for Ranked Leagues, where they are paired with players of a similar skill level.
