Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO
Candidates should make sure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria before applying for the same. The criteria are discussed below:
Age Limit for IBPS PO
- Minimum Age: 20 years.
- Maximum Age: 30 years.
- There is age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, PwD, Persons affected by 1984 Riots, Ex-Servicemen, Jammu & Kashmir domiciled during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 candidates.
Educational Qualification for IBPS PO
- Candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognized Institute/University.
- Working knowledge of computers is also required.
IBPS PO Exam Pattern/Selection Process
The selection process for IBPS PO will include three phases. The candidates need to qualify all the three stages to make it to the final merit list. The first two phases of the selection process i.e. the preliminary and mains exam will be conducted in online mode. The selection process and exam pattern of the three phases have been discussed below:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
The exam will consist of three sections i.e. English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The exam will be of 100 marks. The duration to solve each section is 20 minutes. The candidates have to clear both the sectional, as well as overall cut-off will be eligible for the mains exam. There will be 30 questions in each section and the duration to solve each section will be 20 minutes. The maximum marks for English Section will be 30 and for Numerical and Reasoning Ability will be 35 each. The total duration of the exam is going to be 1 hour.
Phase-II: Mains Examination
The maximum marks for the mains exam are 250. The mains exam will also include a descriptive paper. The candidates who’ll qualify the mains exam will be eligible to appear in the interview. The number of questions for Reasoning & Computer Aptitude will be 45 while for English language and Data Analysis & Interpretation will be 35 each. The number of questions in General Economy & Banking Awareness will be 40. Candidates will get 60 minutes to solve the Reasoning & Computer Aptitude Section, 40 minutes for English Section, 45 minutes for Data Analysis & Interpretation and 35 minutes for General Economy & Banking Awareness.
Phase-III: Interview
This is the last phase of the selection process for IBPS PO and it will be conducted for 100 marks. The cut-off for the interview is 40%. The syllabus of the interview includes topics like:
