Using the Best Tools for Remote Work

With working from home at an all-time high, how productive and happy are remote workers? It may seem like those with ultimate work flexibility would the most satisfied and engaged of all workers, but that assumption would not be quite right. Recent inquiries into the issue have found that the most engaged employees are those remote workers who spend 60 to 80 percent of their time out of the office.

It turns out that spending 20 to 30 percent of their time interacting with other employees is critical to a work balance. No one has yet studied the effects of tools like Video Chat SDK and Video Chat API, which can put co-workers in close contact with one another throughout the workday, on this need for a balance.

It is possible that choosing the right tools for remote work could have a positive impact on an employee’s perceived work balance and improve the symptoms of isolation that people who work outside the office all the time have reported feeling.

Not only were workers who worked remotely the majority of their time more engaged than their counterparts who spent the minority of time working remotely, but they were also much more likely to agree that their employer cared about them as an individual and to view their employer positively overall. Remote workers also reported feeling that they made progress during their remote days and rated them as productive.

Remote workers and their employers should not overlook the importance of being equipped with the right tools to get the job done wherever they are in the world. No one is happy when packet loss and slow connections interrupt their workflow.
