Zoom is a multifunctional program available for both meetings with your colleagues or simple interactions with your friends when you watch movies or play casino online. Yet, your experience with this app can get even better, and these tips will help you.
This feature allows you to add a custom background during your Zoom meeting. While Zoom offers some interesting media out of the box, you can also upload your own images and videos to the background. So, to enable it, click on the cogwheel icon to open the settings and go to the Virtual Background tab. Here you can choose a background from the options listed or add your own image or video.
If you only need to follow one tip for Zoom, let it be this one. When there are too many attendees at a meeting, it’s hard to hear everyone because of cross-talk and background noise. But you can change this situation with a simple hack. For example, if you’re taking part in a web conference and you’re not talking, turn off your microphone. And if you want to talk briefly, just press the spacebar to turn the microphone on and talk. When you press the spacebar, you will be muted again. This way, the meeting will be smooth, Zoom will consume less traffic, and everyone will be able to hear the others clearly.
To use this feature, open Audio in settings. Then enable the mute microphone when joining a meeting feature. Now, when you’re in a meeting, press and hold the spacebar to temporarily mute and talk afterwards.
Sometimes we get a meeting notification and rush to join the conference in our clumsy selves. To avoid this embarrassment, you can permanently disable video when joining a meeting. Once you feel great, you can turn on video. To use this feature, open Settings and disable video when joining a meeting.
With this feature, everyone is on the same page and you can easily monitor all participants at the same time. Yet, it is recommended to use this feature when you have a small group, otherwise Active Speaker is good enough. So, to enable it, click at the button in the upper right corner of your Zoom window and you’re all set.
If you tend to invite many participants to a Zoom meeting, you can enable a global feature that automatically copies the invitation URL to the clipboard. That way, it will save a lot of time by finding the invitation URL. So, open Settings and go to the general tab. Check the “Automatically copy invitation URL once the meeting starts” checkbox, and now you can ask people to join your meeting by seamlessly providing the URL to Slack, WhatsApp, and other social networks.
Snap Camera is the desktop version of Snapchat, where you can apply many filters. You can also share these lenses with Zoom as the default look. The Snap Camera integration with Zoom is a lot of fun, especially when you have a group call with friends. To use it, all you have to do is download the Snap Camera app for Windows or macOS and then click the image using any of the lenses available there. After that, just open Zoom and go to Settings. Under the Video tab, select Camera from the drop-down menu.
Zoom has some of the best third-party apps that you can integrate with a single click. Do you want to join a Microsoft Teams meeting from Zoom? No worries, just add an app from the store and you’re all set. Want to import all your meeting schedules from Google Calendar or Outlook? There are special apps for that. You want to meet with your colleagues from Slack and start a one-click video call, well, there’s an app for that. The third-party integration in Zoom is incomparable, and you should take advantage of it.
