The Chevy Malibu has been a popular choice in North America for those looking for a midsize family sedan that is comfortable, economical, great to drive, and good to look at.
German car manufacturers have always been considered as the kingpins when it comes to engineering fast and comfortable four-door sedans. However, brands like Mercedes, BMW, VW, and Audi are much more expensive than their North American counterparts.
A decade ago the Chevy Malibu wouldn’t have stood a chance against these big German names. Today, however, the new Chevy Malibu 2020 models can take on anything that the German’s throw at it.
The LS and LT models come with all the modern bells and whistles you would expect from a luxury sedan and all models handle like a dream. Factors such as build quality and reliability have always been the downside of owning American made cars but today this stereotype no longer holds merit.
Chevy, Ford, Cadillac, and Chrysler have all spent billions of dollars on R&D to develop modern cars that are built to rival the best brands in the business. Having been made in America these cars are also considerably less expensive than European and Japanese imports.
Chevy Malibu Trim Levels
The Chevy Malibu series has seen significant success in the past few years largely due to a revamp in styling, trim levels, options, and features. With plenty of options to choose from to suit any budget and any need, it is no wonder that the Chevy Malibu is at the top of the mid-size sedan class.
The 2020 models come with six different Chevy Malibu trim levels:
- 2020 Chevy Malibu L Trim Level
The L. is the base model and yet it is still sufficiently equipped. It has adjustable seating, climate control, a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system for music, Keyless entry, auto-functioning headlights, driver safety aids, and Connected Access.
- 2020 Chevy Malibu LS Trim Level
One step-up from the base model is the LS model that offers even more features and styling options. The interior has upgraded mats, a compass, and an exterior temperature reading. Vanity mirrors can be found on both the driver and passenger side. It also looks better thanks to the aluminum rims and rear window shades.
- 2020 Chevy Malibu RS Trim Level
The RS model is slightly more expensive than the LS model but not by much. What you get for your extra cash is essentially a much sportier and aggressive looking machine with a front black grille, a dual-outlet exhaust, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch wheels.
- 2020 Chevy Malibu LT Trim Level
The LT model is for those that prefer that added luxury and style when driving. The Malibu LT might be considerably more than the base model but then you do get a lot more car for the money. The LT has front heated seats, automatic climate control, power windows, heater power mirrors, and illuminated vanity mirrors. The exterior is also spruced up with front LED lights, LED tail lights, and custom 17-inch wheels.
- 2020 Chevy Malibu Premier Trim Level
This is the most expensive trim level offered in the range with features that would win the hearts of even the pickiest of drivers. The Premium model lives up to its name with even more creature comforts, luxury accessories, and exterior face-lifts.
- 2020 Malibu Hybrid
If going green and eco-driving is what you are all about then the Malibu Hybrid is your only choice. Comfortable, quiet, eco-friendly, safe, and extremely practical this is one of the more affordable hybrid options available in the market.
