5 Mobile Marketing Ideas for Small Businesses in 2020

According to statistics, over 3.5 billion smartphones are active in the world today. Since most people spend about five hours a day on their phones, that’s potentially an enormous number of customers for your business. To get your share of mobile sales, try these strategies.

Find Out What Works

Before you start overhauling your mobile sales strategy, you must first find out what is working now. Scraping everything and starting over could confuse your current customers and make them feel unappreciated.

Instead, run a sales analysis to find out which strategies are doing well for your company and incorporate them in with your new ones. Make what is working central to your changes because they are making money for your business now.

Take Advantage of Social Commerce

If your target audience is under 40, then you already know that most of the time they are on their phones, they are tweeting or looking at their social media accounts. Take advantage of this by adding a social commerce strategy to your mobile sales campaigns.

Social commerce is using social media to entice customers to buy your products through the platforms they are already using, such as Facebook, Instagram, or Tik Tok. Plan your eCommerce strategies for your social media sites and make them shoppable to drive sales.

Integrate Voice Search

No doubt you’ve heard of Alexa by Amazon, Cortana from Microsoft, and Siri that’s on iPhones. These programs incorporate voice search to help consumers find and purchase the products they want.

Going forward, you should incorporate voice search into your mobile marketing strategies. While it seems like new technology, it’s been around for years, but its use is ramping up.

Approximately half of all online searches in 2020 will be voice searches. Don’t get left behind, but use this information to incorporate it into your company’s mobile app.

Use Video Advertising

Approximately 75 percent of video content viewing is on mobile devices, such as smartphones or tablets. If you’re searching for a platform on which to advertise, you should be using your Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram accounts to place ads for your products.

More people watch video ads on social sites than they do on television and about 73 percent of buyers are influenced by a company’s social media accounts.

Your ad doesn’t need to be a 30 to 60-second soundbite for your products, but you can also do “How to” guides or short presentations to announce new products.

Use Artificial Intelligence

Along with analyzing your sales strategy, you can use artificial intelligence to find out about your customers spending habits. AI can help you find out where they are when shopping, what they are buying, and create deals catering to them.

If you have a buyer’s card from a major grocer like Kroger or Publix, you probably get coupons for the items you buy from their stores. Use this same strategy for your small business to increase your sales to your customer base.

Using technology to increase mobile sales is becoming the norm and not doing so can cause your business to trail behind and lose customers. You don’t need to know how to implement these strategies yourself, you can hire firms to do the work for you and reap the benefits.
